With Handmade Wedding Crafts, you can create beautiful items at a fraction of the cost of buying new, often in a far more environmentally-friendly way and all with a vintage flair. Betty Bee's 35 step-by-step projects show you how to make your bouquet, centrepieces, invitations, favours and more. Each chapter covers a different theme, so you can stick to one or mix and match. Incorporate some 1920s chic into your wedding with 'Jazz Baby Bride' - with a feather boa fascinator and vintage brooch corsage. Head to the 'Fabulous Fifties' chapter for a vintage plate cake stand and bundles of bunting for postwar-inspired prettiness. For shabby chic style with a nostalgic twist, try 'French Fancies', with a birdcage wedding card mail box and perfect lace parasol. Finally, discover ideas that are a little quirkier in Modern Retro - from felt flower table decorations to a distressed crate flower holder. Whether you are planning an intimate ceremony or a celebration for hundreds of guests, Handmade Wedding Crafts is packed with original ideas that you will love to make.

Betty Bee, aka Perelandra Beedles, is a writer for Vintage Life Magazine, Creative Crafting, and the Guardian's Life and Style section. As well as having a love of all things from the 1940s and 1950s, she is a passionate crafter and adores turning old forgotten junk into beautiful new items. Firmly believing that you can delight in the old while embracing the new, she has a homemade cover on her eBook reader and loves nothing more than tweeting while knitting. I've bought a lot of these books over the years and bought this one as my sister is getting married and we want to add some unique touches. Straight away this is a book that stands out from the rest. The projects are unlike anything in other books yet are simple to do (despite my best crafting intentions, I'm a novice). There are simple step by step guides and lovely photography as well as tips on how to customise your project further, something I have never seen before. Projects we' re going to do for the wedding are the shoes (a pair we covet are £225 in the shop where the dress has been bought from), and the brooch bouquet (again, expensive if we were going to buy one we got quoted £125 for a small one). I've already used the favours idea as Easter gifts as the projects in this book can simply be adapted to any celebratory occasion. All in all this is a lovely book that I would highly recommend for anyone who likes to add a unique and personal touch to any occasion not just a wedding.

Bought this for my future daughter-in-law and was tempted to keep it for myself! The book is beautifully photographed and is full of unique ideas which can be used for more than just weddings. It has been well thought out and is easy to follow, even for the cack-handed! I would totally recommend buying this, it's fantastic value

Simple instructions but I had imagined that it would be more advanced. It is though very good to stimulate ideas for a begginer

some great ideas, mixed in with some that are a bit more hit and miss. If you're looking to craft items for your wedding, or even just for afternoon tea or a vintage inspired home then this book can help
